Camping at Shenandoah National Park!

旦那と私は、旦那の春休みの１週間ウェストバージニアにあるシャネンドウ国立公園に行ってきました。(６月上旬)

My husband and I went camping to Shenandoah National Park in West Virginia in middle of June.

私たちが泊まったキャンプ場は、ルイス・マウンテンキャンプ場という所で整備が行き届いていて清潔で広々としていて、さらにはシャワーも付いているキャンプ場でした。良い所でした！

ハイキングをしに行きました。そこで私たちが出会った動物が、なんと、あの…！？

道の真ん中に黒い動物、そう！熊に遭遇したんです！！

A Bear!

ハイキングコースを歩いている何人かの人達が、「あと５分位行った先に、熊がいるよ！」と教えてくれました。そして、ドキドキしながら５分ぐらい歩いているとゴソゴソ足音が聞こえていると思い、林の中を見ると黒い熊が私たちの方にゆっくりと歩いて来たんです！その熊は私たちの２〜３m先まで来てました。一緒に行った犬のサクラは、まっっっっったく気づかず(^^;)まったく、うちのサクラは良い番犬になりそう…

We saw a bear close to! The bear appeared in the hiking trail. He came on us about 7~9 feet in front of us! Our dog, Sakura, didn't notice a bear. We thought she isn't good watchdog. :(

夕飯に、旦那さんがカレーを作ってくれました。

My husband made curry for the first day of dinner.

デザートの「ピーチコブラ」(桃の缶詰め＋ケーキの粉)も♡

He made a Peach Cobbler for dessert! ;p

この国立公園は鹿やリスはもちろん、熊も出没するので、食事の片付け方や荷物の置き場所には十分に注意する必要があります。食器洗いに使った水は絶対に水道に流し、鍋や食品やその他の荷物は夜間、又はハイキングに出かける時は車に入れておくこと。熊は知恵が付いているので、鍋らしきものや少しのにおいで食べ物があると分かってしまうとのこと。

片付けしていて気づいたのは、ここのキャンプ場にある水道からお湯も出るということ！お湯があったから食器の汚れがきれいに落ちました！

Deer, squirrels and bears appear frequently in this national park, so campers need to pay attention to clean away the dishes and leave their stuff from the camping table. They should drain dirty water from washing the dishes, and not forget to put pots and foods and other stuff in their car during the nights or go to hiking. Because of the bears have knowledge that they know what are pots shape and foods smell. I noticed that there is hot water too! I could wash the dishes cleanly!

 何の植物か、結局最後まで分からなかった…。

We didn't know what this flower's name.  

 綺麗な白い花。これは、ハイキングコースで沢山咲いていました。

There were lots of beautiful white flowers in the hiking trails.

足下に咲いていた、小さな赤い花。なんか、小さな森の妖精たちが逆さまになって遊んでいるみたい。

We  camped in Shenandoah National Park for four days. Tomorrow we are going to go to Washington D.C for couple days!
